Jordan Strybos, tenor

Coming from a family of Dutch organists and singers, Jordan Strybos has been passionate about music making from an early age. Born and raised in Lancaster, PA, he came to the University of Hartford in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Acoustical Engineering and Music, focusing in voice. While at university, he has been very active in the Hartt School, studying solo voice with Dr. Kevin Jones and Dr. Robert Barefield. He has performed with Hartt Opera Theatre in productions of Strauss' Die Fledermaus and Kurt Weill's Street Scene.

Rather than solo repertoire, however, Jordan's passion has always been for choral music. While in Hartford, he has been an active member of the Schola Cantorum at St. Joseph's Cathedral since 2012, as well as a section leader in the Hartt Chamber Choir since 2011. He has also worked with the choirs of the First Church of Christ, St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, and Christ Church Cathedral, as well as the New Haven Chorale, the Greater Middletown Chorale, and the Greater New Haven Chamber Choir.

In addition to choral music, Jordan also enjoys a plethora of hobbies. During his time at university, he spent four years in an all-male a cappella group and three years in an improv comedy troupe. Additionally, Jordan has a passion for parkour, dance, and all forms of movement.
