Kathryn Tewksbury, mezzo-soprano
 

Kathryn Tewksbury, from Burlington, CT, attended The Hartt School and earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (summa cum laude) in 2011. While in college, Kathryn studied euphonium and vocal performance with James Jackson, III and Cherie Caluda, respectively. She performed in various ensembles including the Chamber Choir, Chorale, Hartt Collegium, Wind Ensemble, and Tuba-Euphonium ensemble. She also appeared in Copland’s opera, The Tenderland. As a high school student, Kathryn had the privilege of playing euphonium in the prestigious All-Eastern Honor Band.

 

Kathryn performs regularly as a soprano soloist and choir section leader at First Baptist Church in West Hartford, and enjoys performing and directing musical theater.

 

Kathryn works in Regional School District #10 as the elementary vocal music teacher at Lake Garda School, where she teaches general music classes and fourth grade chorus. She also directs the select choral group, The Notable Notes, at Lewis Mills High School. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Music Education from The Hartt School.
